What happened when I rented a scooty in Manali?

The 2nd day of the Manali trip that I can remember clearly, started by renting a scooty in the morning. Then, I visited the Vashistha Temple which is not more than 3 km from mall road. I was easily able to reach there by scooter. But when I had to go to Jogini Falls, it started getting tough. Mainly when I was riding in Old Manali heading towards the Manu temple, it became really difficult.

What were the challenges I had to face by renting a scooty in Manali?

I could not maintain good speed while off-roading as much as a bike could have. While riding uphill the scooter was getting imbalanced too much. While heading towards Manu Temple, when I had to apply breaks, I had to use my legs to support the scooty or it may have slipped which could have been dangerous.

Conclusion

So, as far as my experience is concerned, I will not suggest renting a scooty. This is the main reason why I suggest never renting a scooty in Manali. It is not like renting a scooty is worthless. There are many places in Manali which is good to go by a scooty. But most of the destinations especially which are off-road are better to be explored by bike rather than a scooty.
