There are total 88 ghats in Varanasi. Some of the main Ghats in Varanasi are:- Assi Ghat, Dasashwamedh Ghat, Manikarnika Ghat. Manikarnika Ghat and Raja Harishchandra Ghat are used mainly for cremation rites and it is believed that one who dies here gets salvation.
