When I first saw the pictures of a river flowing between white marble rocks, I could not believe that it was in India. This was the first time I got to know about Bhedaghat where the river Narmada flows between white marble rocks.
I could no longer wait to know more about this place including the best time to visit Bhedaghat and how to reach there. After refining the internet, I finally got to know some facts about it and therefore sharing it with all of you.
These naturally occurring rocks are so beautiful and structured that sometimes seem to be carved. You can imagine its beauty as many Bollywood movies including Mohenjodaro and Pran Jaye Pr Vachan Na Jaye have been filmed in Bhedaghat.
What are the places to visit in Bhedaghat?
Bhedaghat is known for its boating ride in the river Narmada and the Dhuandhar Waterfalls mainly. Apart from those, there is a famous 64 Yogini temple having more than 100 stairs to reach the temple.
Boating Trip in Bhedaghat where Hritik fought with a Crocodile in Mohenjodaro
This is the exact same location where the fight seen of Mohenjodaro between Hritik and a huge croc was filmed. This is one of the most beautiful locations I have ever been to. You might have done many boat rides but this one is going to be in your memory forever for sure.
When the boat crosses between the Shining rocks of marble on the placid waves of the river Narmada, it feels mesmerizing. It is still a very less crowded natural destination in India which is must visit.
These are basically the Rock walls of Marble on both sides of the Narmada river. Its stretch is almost 8kms which is inclined towards the river. When the moonlight strikes these rocks, it gives a shiny effect. Boating in this stretch in moonlights is very popular among tourists.
Dhuandhar waterfalls of Bhedaghat
The nature of this waterfall gives it the name Dhuandhar. Surprised? When the river Narmada falls from some height it seems millions of tiny waterdrops go into the air. These drops create a foggy view and the viewer feels like there is Dhuan(smoke) all over in the air.
There is no charge to visit this waterfall however, one needs to pay the parking fees to park any vehicle. To have the best view of Dhuandhar falls, you can take the ropeway to the top of the waterfall. It is one of the best things you can do at Bhedaghat. The waterfall remains closed in the monsoon season.
64 Yogini Temple
This is a must-visit Temple in Bhedaghat. It’s not only an amazing piece of architecture but also the view from the temple top of the Narmada River is very charming.
To reach the temple you have to climb around 100+ stairs which can be tiring so carry a water bottle with you. However, the view from the top is pleasant that it will make you forget your leg cramps.
The temple is more than 1200 years old and its structure is one of the best reasons for its attraction which tourist praise very much.
Best time to visit Bhedaghat
