As per the IMD, the cyclone is losing its strength and turning into a cyclonic storm towards the northeast of Karaikal. As per the department, it seems to be moving towards the northwest entering the north of Tamilnadu crossing Puducherry and adjoining the south Andhra coast somewhere around Mahabalipuram.
