Janamashtami: The divine event of incarnation of the eighth “Avatar” of Lord Vishnu. This is the occasion when Lord Krishna was born in the prison where his parents were kept by his maternal uncle “Kansa”. This is one of the holy and sacred incidents in the history of Hinduism.

Krishna Janamashtami, also known as Krishnashatami is celebrated all over the country. Also, the followers of Krishna outside the nation celebrate this festival with delight. People heartedly believe in the stories of Lord Krishna and how he ended the nasty king “Kansa”.

When is the Krishnashtami Celebrated

Janamashtami is celebrated mostly in August. Although it mainly depends on the date and planetary locations and all and might vary year by year. This year(2022) it is on the 19th of August.
