8. Handara Gate

It is situated in the Northern part of Bali. The temple was once a royal palace. As you might have already guessed, it is named after the sacred river Ganga (Ganges) in Hinduism. It includes the Karangasem royal water palace, bathing pools, Koi fish pond, Patirthan temple and many exquisite artworks representing the Balinese culture. Tourists find it one of the most engaging water temples among many others in Bali.

10. Tanah Lot Temple

The locals believe the sea snake is still alive and living at the base of the island and guarding the temple against evil intruders. There are many temples dedicated to various Gods inside the complex; which includes temples of Lord Shiva, Brahma, Vishnu, Indra and Mount Batur. - Do not step on a place of worship. Do not spit and speak harshly inside the temple premises.
- Menstruating women are not allowed to enter the area inside the temple.
- Dispose of trash in the dustbins provided.
- Please bring extra clothes, towels, sarongs, scarves, and plastic bags. This is necessary if you want to soak in the bathing area at Tirta Empul Temple, Tampak Siring.
- Wear a sarong while visiting any temple complex and make sure bare knees and shoulders are not visible.
- No kissing or any other form of PDA (public display of affection) is allowed in public.
- Don’t take photos directly in front of worshippers.
- Anyone with a running sore or bleeding wound is considered impure and not to be allowed into any Balinese temple.
